Comparison with ms exchange

(Our SAAS Based Service Vs Hosted MS Exchange)

Comparison: Assumptions on Costs would based on the data taken from respective sites or quotes that you would provide. Additionally the assumption on discount offered on MS Exchange is based on the volume discounts normally offered by Microsoft for their products/services. However, such computations will only be provided on case to case basis and no document is made available here.

Technical features comparison document is available on this page for download. For commercial comparison on point by point basis we would need detailed requirements from you. However, please note that you can expect a minimum of 40-50% savings on recurring basis year after year as compared to MS Exchange based service. The assumptions on basis of which we submit commercial comparison document on client to client basis is noted in the respective section on this page.

Technical Features Comparison: A detailed comparison between our LINUX based offering under SAAS Model and Microsoft Exchange Cloud model BPOS component. We are not comparing with any DESK-LESS service offered by Microsoft in same segment. The IM server component is integrated for authentication and access control through OpenLDAP to the ail user database and access control is based on Account Class which can be managed from the WEBADMIN console of the service. With Document sharing through WEBDAV and WEBMAIL interface slated to be released in Q3 2010, the same would also take our service a step closer with respect to feature of Document storage & sharing. This release will also have built in Advanced Migration for Migrating from MS Exchange to our service.

Commercial Comparison: This comparison is based on following assumptions. If any of the assumptions are misplaced and you would like a comparison with facts and figures available with you please feel free to Contact Sales and we shall submit a detailed comparison and recurring cost savings calculations based on your values.

(1) IM & Presence server is integrated by us and accessible by all by default on all domains of client. Access Control can be controlled by the administrator from WEBADMIN based on Account Class. Users can access the IM server from PSI Client. IM server supports one to one chat, multi-user/password protected chat rooms, P2P File transfers and Voice chat over lib jingle and support STUN for traversal through NAT. If you are a single tenant server client with multiple domains under control then even multi domain support is included in setup. Since external signup is not allowed its truly for Corporate Communications only where access is controlled by Admin based on Account class.

(2) Exchange Active Sync is available as a Additional add on component as this is something which may not be needed by all users across the table. The word FREE is always misleading. If you are given the argument that ActiveSync comes free for all users always remember that price is included in offer and then offered as something FREE. So basically you are charged for what not everyone will use. Our pricing model is based entirely on Pay for what you use and thus Save money.

(3) Blackberry Device support on our service is through Astrasync and requires no BES/BIS plan. This is available again on per user basis @US $49/user/annum as compared to US $120/user/annum on Microsoft's BPOS offering. We are presuming 50 Blackberry users for sake of arriving at Cost Savings Comparison sheet. So for a 50 user requirement this alone saves $3500/Annum.

(4) Base number for preparing the cost comparison sheet is for 1000 users+ as that's the minimum that we need where we offer SINGLE TENANT servers managed 24X7 proactively by us.

(5) For a minimum of 1000 users, MS BPOS discounted price is presumed at US $6.00/user/month against the regular price of US $9.2/Mo as available on Microsoft offer site as on June 2010. If you have a different quote please let us know.

Additionally nothing can be ore absurd and ridiculous than the fact that Outlook WEB ACCESS (OWA) full feature set is only supported by browser family that caused Google Network to be breached in January 2010. If one uses other browser, then only a Light weight component is useable where not all feature sets get loaded. Rest needs IE forcing user to stay on a browser which is known for all security vulnerabilities globally. There are no such FORCED Restrictions on our platform.

Cost Comparison with Lotus Live: For 1000 users and above Lotus LIVE comes at $9.00/user/month. If you are contemplating signing up for same or want to migrate away from such a service and need a detailed cost savings please feel free to Contact Sales

Word On Security And Stability: As per third party data mining service, a mere 25% of web world is on windows platform (Click Here For Details) as compared to roughly 75% being Non Windows. Less than 17% of active sites in world are on WINDOWS. Reasons are pretty obvious. Security and Stability though there are some sponsored researches published which talk otherwise but all security experts are aware who sponsors those researches. Nothing can be more convincing that Govt Of Germany & France issued Advisory to all it's citizens to not use IE and find some other browser when Google network was compromised due to security vulnerability in once upon a time world's most popular browser. All vendors have stopped supporting IE6 (except MS of course). So we also recommend to Download & Install Firefox

If you feel MS has got the most secure datacenter in the world then question would be who says so? So does Google have but got breached (In Jan 2010) through a Microsoft product. Those who compromise a system don't need Biometric and Badge entry and they cannot be monitored over hi-tech surveillance equipments like video cameras. They just get in based on security flaws in core. MS have had their own network breached so what does most/highly  secure datacenter mean?.

You can only secure what is secure and there's nothing more secure than LINUX. Security by Obscurity (MS way of defining security) has lost steam quite sometime back. So let's leave this FUD of MS having one of the most secure Data Centers in world. Security is most abused word by those who know nothing about security beyond the sponsored third party papers which show Linux to be more insecure. Remember, 75% of world on web is Non WINDOWS and not without reason of course.

Most security breaches are on WINDOWS platform despite they just controlling ere 25% of share on web or 17% of active sites/services on web.  We have Linux servers running for 400+ days without reboot against the Customary Three Fingered Salute (CTRL + ALT + DEL) which is needed by Windows pretty frequently. It's more of a BUILT In Feature than an Option.

Much Hyped CLOUD: Everything is in CLOUD as long as it is not in your basement.  "Larry Ellisons' View On Cloud Computing" Pay what you use technically really doesn't apply for mailing/groupware services. Multi-tenant (shared resource) is something that security paranoids don't like and CLOUD is all about SHARING resource. CLOUD terminology as a Sales tool may be fine but what does it offer? We had GRID Computing (word derived from electricity grid) and all this Buzz Word emanates every 2-3 years from Silicon Valley ... WEB2, SAAS, Grid Computing, Cloud Computing ..... Bottom-line remains same --- If it's not in your basement then it's CLOUD.
