OPEN LDAP INTEGRATION WITH Groupware

For Load Balanced Cluster Setup, Integrating Third Party Applications for Central Authentication

OpenLDAP is free open source implementation of the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol developed by the OpenLDAP Project. We install and configure OpenLDAP and then configure the Groupware Software to communicate with the OpenLDAP server which opens up following possibilities as far as extending the groupware solution capabilities to:

1. Integrate Third Party Applications With Central Authentication: One example is already discussed and that involves integration XMPP IM Server solely for use by the users on domain and no external signup allowed. Users just authenticate using their email authentication details and access to XMPP server can be denied by defining an account class in the GROUPWARE WEBADMIN by the domain administrator. We have all the expertise to install, configure and integrate the OpenLDAP software to the Groupware Software. There's no GUI based administration console for the OpenLDAP server so all administration is from server console and all that is taken care by us 24X7. All that clients will be required to do is manage accounts and account class.
   
   Please Note: For single tenant server clients, if such an integration is needed, then one time installation and configuration and integration charges apply. Additionally a marginal monthly support fee (per server irrespective of number of users on server) apply he quantum of support fee would depend on the complexity of the third party software being installed and integrated.
    
2. Load Balanced Cluster Setup for Large User base: This is for a large user base setup where single server just cannot function due to resource requirements. Such planning is done right at the start of project so all costs and support costs are included right in the beginning and there are no hidden charges after that on account of this. Yes as more and more nodes are added to the cluster, the lease of total setup would increase due to additional nodes coming in.
   
   There's no limit on scalability as one can keep adding nodes to the cluster as and when required. As with all our services, all management and support is 24X7 by our skilled staff on proactive basis. So no steep learning costs on any account. All that client admin would need to do is manage accounts, quota, account class, groups from GUI based WEBADMIN for the Groupware Server.
